US Middle East Envoy George Mitchell returns to region

US Middle East Envoy George Mitchell is scheduled to return to the region on Wednesday to continue mediating indirect talks between Palestinian and Israeli officials, Israel's Army Radio reported.

Israel's raid on a humanitarian aid convoy will be high on the agenda, as well as recent developments relating to regional politics and the peace process, the broadcast revealed.

Mitchell will also be preparing for a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama scheduled for the end of June.

The US envoy was in Bethlehem shortly after Israel's raid of the Freedom Flotilla to participate in the Second Palestine Investment Conference. source: ma'an
