A Palestinian citizen was moderately injured on Saturday evening during clashes between Palestinian residents and Jewish settlers in the village of Borin in northern West Bank, witnesses and medics said.
Palestinian witnesses said that during the clashes between the Jewish settlers who tried to storm the village near the city of Nablus and the Palestinian residents, an Israeli army force intervened and opened fire at the Palestinian demonstrators.
The witnesses said that one resident was injured in his leg and was taken by a Palestinian ambulance to Nablus city hospital for medical treatment. Medics in the hospital said he was moderately injured.
The residents said Jewish settlers had stormed the village for the third time in three weeks, and the settlers are usually backed by Israeli soldiers.
The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) insists not to resume any peace talks with the Israeli government, until the latter completely halts settlement activities in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The PNA also called on the Israeli government to put an end to the settlers' attacks on Palestinian villages in the West Bank.
